For Immediate Release:
Steve Arpin to throw opening pitch at the Louisville BATS Baseball Game
Denver, NC(April 26th, 2009)- Steve Arpin, driver of the No.20 Jeff Taylor Motorsports Toyota in the ARCA RE/MAX Series joins the Louisville BATS Baseball Team for Day #1 of “Education Day” at the Louisville Slugger Field April 28th, 2009.
With over 2,000 pre-sold kids tickets already purchased for Day #1 of “Education Day”, Arpin looks forwards to helping educate the younger generation about the world of racing and allowing the kids to see his No.20 Toyota Camry up close. Steve will be signing autographs near the main entrance before the game and will then be throwing the opening pitch to kick off the Indianapolis vs. Louisville MiBA game.
“It is going to be really cool to be apart of “Education Day” and spending time with all the kids and giving them the opportunity to see our car up close. I always look forward to spending time with kids and getting them interested in racing. I am also looking forward to throwing the opening pitch. My car chief, Nate Myers and I have been practicing my pitching strategy and I think I got my curve ball down,” said Arpin.
During "Education Day", classrooms will have an opportunity to learn in a fun, co-curricular environment as the school year comes to an end.
The Bats want this experience to be more than just a field trip. Thus, they have designed an educational supplement for grades K-8. These materials help to provide a means of integrating baseball with math, science, social studies, and reading. Each respective supplement is in accordance with KIRIS standards for those Kentucky schools interested in utilizing these materials.
All available tickets at Louisville Slugger Field have been specially discounted to $5 each just for schools. For students wishing to bring their lunches, they will allow box and sack lunches in the park. Gates will open at 10:00 a.m. with the first pitch scheduled for 11:05 a.m.
